THE REALISTIC GIANTS FAN: At a Loss for Words

What Can You Say?

Who saw that coming? After Eric Hinske hit the 2 run homerun in the bottom of the 8th I sent a text to my friend and said that was it. He responded by telling me that yes indeed, that was the knockout blow and not just for the game. That was the homer that ended our season. Then just 20 minutes later I was back on top of the mountain. It's been said a billion times, but baseball is a funny, funny, FUNNY game.

Truly, I'm at a loss for words. I don't know what to say. I am so caught up in emotion that I am incapable of writing anything decent. I just wanna say things like, "aren't you guys so happy right now?" This season has been full of magic and yesterday's game was no different. I predicted what would happen in the regular season, but the postseason is a different animal. I have no analysis. Truly, nothing to say.

I also have no first hand account of Game 1. I had to sell my ticket. Can you believe it? Sometimes, my friend, as you get older you have to decide between making some much needed money and going somewhere and spending a crapload. When I was younger it wouldn't have been a question. Nowadays I have a daughter and responsibilities, bills to pay, etc. However, don't let that fool you into thinking I haven't seen every pitch. I also hold out that if they make it to the Series I will somehow track a ticket down. I was very disappointed, but life is life.

  1. What a heck of a series, the next one is going to be great as well with the pitching match ups. Sorry to hear you had to sell your ticket, those are the kind of decisions that will come back to you someday with some good karma though to make up for it. Go Giants!
